The workshop provides the audience with an introduction to technical writing and computer presentations with LaTeX,  which is the defacto standard in computer science, mathematics and many other sciences. The discussed topics are as follows:

• Introduction to LaTeX
• LaTeX vs. WYSIWYG
• Offline use of LaTeX (in your computer)
• Online use of LaTeX (in cooperation with your supervisor and co-workers)
• LaTeX document format
• Figures, equations and tables in LaTeX
• Bibliography in LaTeX
• LaTeX and GitHub
• Create your Scientific paper, CV, Business Card, Report, etc. with LaTeX

Die HFU Akademie (Hochschule Furtwangen Akademie) ist eine zentrale Einrichtung der Hochschule Furtwangen. Ihr satzungsgemäßer Zweck besteht darin, Angebote zur wissenschaftlichen Weiterbildung zu entwickeln und durchzuführen.

In den Weiterbildungsveranstaltungen der HFU Akademie wird - der Tradition von Fachhochschulen folgend - wissenschaftliche Fundiertheit mit Praxisnähe verbunden. Dadurch wird die Übertragung des Gelernten in den Arbeitsalltag erleichtert.

Bei der Veranstaltungsplanung wird auf eine gute Vereinbarkeit von Berufstätigkeit und Weiterbildung geachtet, indem z.B. flexible Lernformen (z.B. Online und Blended Learning) und für Berufstätige sinnvolle Veranstaltungszeiten gewählt werden.

Die meisten Veranstaltungen aus dem Weiterbildungsangebot der HFU Akademie können auf Anfrage auch als Inhouse Trainings an die spezifischen Gegebenheiten eines Unternehmens angepasst und durchgeführt werden.

The HFU Academy (Hochschule Furtwangen Akademie) is a central institution of Furtwangen University. Its statutory purpose is to develop and implement offers for academic continuing education.

Following the tradition of universities of applied sciences, the HFU Academy's continuing education courses combine a sound scientific foundation with practical relevance. This facilitates the transfer of what is learned into everyday work.

When planning the events, attention is paid to a good compatibility of work and further education, for example by choosing flexible learning forms (e.g. online and blended learning) and event times that make sense for working people.

Most of the events from the HFU Academy's continuing education programme can also be adapted and carried out as in-house training courses to suit the specific circumstances of a company on request.
